Message from the Chairman

I am grateful to support the development of the California University of Science and Medicine, School of Medicine, through a substantial contribution from the Prime Healthcare Foundation. Ultimately, this new university will inspire, motivate, and empower students to become excellent and caring physicians, scientists, and leaders.

 

It is a great privilege to prepare students to help shape the future of healthcare. The value of education was instilled in me as a child growing up in India. Being the first member of my family to go to high school and college, education was life-changing for me. It gives me great pleasure to help provide others the opportunities I had. As Nelson Mandela said, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

 

After decades of providing support to educational and healthcare initiatives globally, it is a noble endeavor for the Prime Healthcare Foundation to fund and establish a medical school in our own community. The California University of Science and Medicine faculty have shown a commitment to excellence through the design of an innovative curriculum and the use of unique teaching methods and a team-based approach. Students will learn the importance of improving the health and healthcare needs of underrepresented and underserved communities, starting right here in San Bernardino County.

 

I am excited about the momentum we are creating to address the growing need for primary care physicians who are trained to deliver high quality, compassionate care. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the California University of Science and Medicine, welcome to the future of healthcare.
