The CUSM MD program is core to the university's mission to advance the art and science of medicine through innovative medical education, research, and compassionate healthcare delivery in an inclusive environment that advocates critical thinking, creativity, integrity, and professionalism.

First accepting Medical Students in 2018, CUSM has graduated two classes of physicians. Each class has achieved a 100% NRMP match rate and is currently in residency at prestigious programs throughout the United States.

Our Values

We are committed to educating future physicians who will embrace the responsibility of improving underserved communities' health and healthcare needs and advocate for eliminating health disparities.

Accept individual and collective responsibility to direct education, research, and service activities to address the priority health concerns spanning the local to the global community.

Promote effective changes in educational policies and processes to develop and train competent physicians with leadership roles in all domains of medicine.

Inspire, shape, and mold students' character through dedicated faculty and creative, innovative teaching methods.

Achieve consistent, outstanding levels of performance that exceed the expectations of our students while upholding the highest standards of ethical behavior, intellectual honesty, and professional conduct.

Promote, cultivate, and respect the ethnic, intellectual, social, and cultural diversity of students, faculty, and patients in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.

Our Teaching Hospital

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is our teaching hospital and partner in educating the next generation of physicians. ARMC has over 4,000 employees, 400 physicians, and over 200 resident physicians dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare. ARMC is a Level 1 trauma center. The ARMC Emergency Department is the second busiest in the state of California. The hospital operates ten different residency training programs. Located just from the university, CUSM third- and fourth-year students will conduct clerkships and rotations at ARMC. Several ARMC physicians are department chairs, faculty, and committee members at CUSM.
